Aims
|
The Open House international Association
(OHIA) aims to communicate, disseminate and exchange
housing and planning information. The focus of this
exchange is on tools, methods and processes which
enable the various professional disciplines to understand
the dynamics of housing and so contribute more effectively
to it.
To achieve its aims, the OHIA organises and co-ordinates
a number of activities which include the publication
of a quaterly journal, and, in the near future, an
international seminar and an annual competiton.
The Association has the general more aim of seeking
to improve the quality of the built-enviroment through
encouraging a graeter sharing of decision-maikng by
ordinary people and to help develop the nesessary
instutional frameworks which will support the local
initiatives of people in the housing process. |

and pratice with special emphasis on the local scale. |

Seminar/Workshop
|
To be held annually and hosted by a
member institute. Explores the many interlocking forms
of public/private relationships which are emerging
in housing and settlement development. |

The Competition
|
To be sponsered annually, in connection
wit Seminar.Covers, principles, methods, tools and
practice which may be transferable and interchangeable
in evolutionary planning, neighbourhood and housing
design. An international panel of judges selects the
top submissions. |

OPEN HOUSE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION
APPLICATION FORM
The Open House International Association is an effective
and vital group of institutions and individuals interested
in the quality of Built Environment and the roles of the
different parties, including the user, in the design and
building processes, which contribute effectively to it.
The intention is to widen the membership with an affordable
subscription rate to support the publication of the journal
. You are invited to join the OHI Association. Your support
will be very much appreciated and your institution or
department will be listed on the inside back cover of
the journal.
As an OHI Association member you may receive up to 10
copies per quarter and also any activity organised by
Open House International will be free of any registration
costs as well as free advertising in the journal.
The annual subscription to the Association is set between
350.00 GBP and 550 GBP / 540$ and 800$. I hope your Institution
or University Department will join.
